OK – had another great idea from a customer. It would be quite nice to have an overall want list database incorporated into the website. This database would match the item database in fields – though none would be required. Each buyer would have an optional want list section where they could create various searches by field.
So, for example, lets say you are looking for a specific record from the Skillet Lickers – let’s say Columbia-15516, Rocky Pallet / Hell’s Broke Loose in Georgia, V+ or better (let me know if you have one for sale – ha!). You’d be able to make an entry in your want list – you could enter the label Columbia, then the number 15516, then select V+ or better in the grade. Then, every time an item is listed by a seller, the system would check this item against the want list database (combined for all buyers) and email each individual buyer that a matching item has been listed. If you are less specific in the want list, you could just enter the artist Skillet Lickers – and each time a Skillet Lickers record is listed, you’d be notified.
We’d probably set the comparison to run once a month (at the start of each cycle) for auction items and daily for set price store items.
This combined want list should also be viewable/searchable for sellers so they have a better idea of what buyers are looking for.
